It is the true story of a child's abuse at the hands of his brutal mother and then his journey through the foster care system. This book was actually the very first online purchase I made in my life; I saw Dave Pelzer on Oprah years ago, and being new to having a computer, I got so excited that I could just jump up and click a few buttons and buy his book. It is a riveting, disturbing, and also inspirational story. So worth reading! Pelzer wrote at least two more books that I know of after this one, and although I don't have those available for sale right now, I highly recommend them. This is the first of his books, and thus the start of the story of his life's journey. It has been read once, shows very little wear, no noteworthy problems.
