Welcome to Black Hill Woods!
Hello, my name is David. I started BHW in 2021 to help make these types of products and information more accessible. I have been gardening and harvesting from the wild since I can remember. Organic gardening is the only option, to me natural is the way, so I'm always trying to grow and expand my own knowledge. Most of what I know about horticulture has been passed down to me from my family, I also do my best to share that around and encourage people to start looking at the possibilities around self-sufficiency.
Black Hill Woods is an area of forest located here in Grand Beach, NL. It is a pristine section far away from any pollution, where everything grows naturally. The area has a warm feel of comfort and welcome. Scattered throughout are areas where I harvest, by hand, some of the best items that I carry. So when I say "natural", I really do mean it.
Our teas and other featured products come from their origins such as China, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Taiwan. I work with producers who practice organic farming methods and avoid additives. All are areas of superior quality and some more so than others. For example, Sri Lanka is know for it's True Cinnamon and more recently for its ban on non-organic fertilizers and herbicide/pesticides where as Indonesia is known to produce some of the worlds highest Vanilla pods. China and Taiwan for their superior teas. Regardless of where they are produced rest assured they all come from FDA approved producers.
