I've been crocheting for over 5 decades and I finally decided to sell some of my creations! They are handcrafted because no machine can duplicate a crocheted item. I fell in love with crochet the first time I ever picked up a hook at the age of 10. A granny lady who watched me when I was a child taught me to crochet to keep me out of trouble!
I started out making things like ponchos, doilies, and blankets for my mom who was very excited to get what I would make for her. She has been my biggest cheerleader throughout the years and the first time I ever saw her wearing the poncho I made for her was really exciting!
I had made something useful and pretty. 54 years later, she still has that poncho!
When you buy a handcrafted item, you are getting an item from the heart of the Artisan, me. Yes, I am an Artisan! The creation you are purchasing took thought, love, and passion to come to life. Crochet is my happy place and I love other fiber arts, as well.
Handcrafted may cost more…but there is a story and decades of experience behind the creation. A story you take part in just by owning the item. A story you can share with generations to come. There is a real person and real thought behind each handmade item - NOT a machine.
