Our passion for beautiful Italian, luxury Crystal chandeliers has spanned over a decade and we have decided to share it with you. At first it was about sourcing these beautiful chandeliers for our own country villas, here in the hills of Rome and then for friends and family. This year we have decided to sell these gems under our brand name The English Sisters. We hope that they give you us much pleasure as they have given us over the years. Each has a story to tell and is looking forwards to shining once more in your home.
This is a story we wrote that describes our passion for vintage crystal chandeliers.
The Chandelier by The English Sisters
The vintage chandelier lay on the floor alive but not living.
Years and years had passed since it had been lit up.
A blanket of thick dust covered every crystal drop.
A spider had made its home in the chandelier 's body frame covering the chandelier with its silky web.
"At least I am of use" it would say.
"The spider has found a home and I am protected by its silky web. I am old now and many of my crystal drops have been lost" The chandelier would say these words to itself over and over again.
Days and weeks passed and years, too many to count.
Every day was the same as the day before alive but not living.
The chandelier and the spider passed their time waiting.
One was waiting for food and the other was waiting for nothing at all.
The spider found its food and the chandelier found exactly what it was looking for, nothing at all.
A ray of light entered the attic. The spider hid quickly in the chandelier's body frame.
Two men entered. One of them was an antique dealer.
The dealer's expert eye was immediately attracted to the chandelier.
In no time at all the chandelier was hung on a hook .
The antique dealer's expert hands carefully removed the spider and its web and replaced the missing drops.
As the expert hands of the antique dealer worked, the chandelier understood that all it needed was one expert eye and two loving hands to bring back the shine.
The chandelier now glows once again in its new home.
Alive and living.
