He moved at an early age to Toronto where he attended art school. After studying painting, he became intrigued by the spontaneous nature of photog-raphy and film and went on to earn his degree in photographic arts. Upon graduation from art school, he moved to Paris where he began his career as a fashion photographer, shooting first for French Elle. In 1990, he moved to the United States and continued to publish his pictures in major fashion magazines, including Allure, German Vogue, Glamour, GO, Interview, Italian Vogue, L'Uomo Vogue, Mademoiselle, Vanity Fair, Vogue, and W as well as shooting many well-known advertising campaigns.
