This is a fabulous vintage Whiting and Davis chainmail mesh evening shoulder bag probably from the 1980s, although it has the Mod look of London's Swinging '60s (think Mary Quant or Paco Rabanne especially. The bag is silver mesh with gold leather accents and shoulder strap. It zips across the top, The inside is lined and quite clean; there is a small zippered compartment. The strap is removable.
