This unique vintage Japanese (Satsuma style?) earthenware pottery covered jar in pink gold with moriage painted flowers in white black. The lid has a gold painted Foo Dog finial. This is signed both on the jar rim inside of the lid, although I do not know the markings of Japanese pottery (please look at all photos). Some loss of gold on the foo dog, some discoloration from age use, see base photo, no cracks, one ear on the foo dog has a small nick/chip, much crazing, overall very good for it's age. Measures approx 5" wide x 5 1/4" high to top of finial, 3 5/8" deep and weighs approx 2 lbs packaged.
