This is an older example of this popular vase. It has significant symbolism for power and protection, prosperity, yin and Yang. Immortality and protection. This piece is marked ?made of Shoushan stone? which is the beautiful soapstone you find in Chinese Carving. This makes me think it is made in the same region and the stamp was just decorative for the trade market, since this is brass and not soapstone. Stands 9-1/3? tall and weighs almost 3 pounds.
