Up for sale Postwar Vintage Lionel Lines 6466 W Early Coal Whistle Black Tender. Tender is in original condition , shows some play wear (normal for age). Plastic shell has couple scratches on edges, no dents or cracks. Lettering is darkened and faded due to age. Metal frame , wheels and trucks are good, but show some spots with oxidation. Frame has some scratches on paint. Stamped numbers are faded, only letter W is visible. Wires need to be replaced (see pic.10,11). I didn't test a coupler for uncoupling. Tender tested with Lionel SW 130 W Transformer , whistle works as should (I connected wires to transformer directly). I don't have original box for this item. Now information from Lionel library This early coal tender was first produced in 1941 during the Pre-War Era and was based on a New York Central prototype. A smaller version of the No. 2426W. This whistle tender came with staple-end trucks with a magnetic coupler on the rear. A plastic body was heat-stamped "LIONEL LINES" on the sides and it was fastened to a sheet-metal chassis.
