Navy Uniform Regulations, Chapter 4, Section 2, Part 3, male U. S. Navy service stripes consist of embroidered diagonal stripes which are 7 inches long and 3/8 inches wide for male Chief Petty Officer's - CPOs E-7 through E-9. All enlisted Naval personnel wear one stripe for each four years of active duty service or reserve service in an active status in any of the armed services.
