Vintage Reception Invitation from the United States Military Mission to Brazil, hosted by Colonel and Mrs. William T. Verbeck, Captain and Mrs. Lowe H. Bibby, and Colonel Alvord V.P. Anderson, in honor of the Commandant, Staff and Students of the Escola Superior de Guerra (Higher School of War). Dated April 27, no year, but other items from the military mission to Brazil estate of Lt. Col. Sol. E. Ernest sold separately are circa 1949-1950. 4-page invitation printed on heavy cream colored stock with decorative edges, with only the inside page printed, the rest being blank. Measures 7 x 4.25 when folded. No envelope. Condition: This is an original invitation, not a copy or reproduction. It is in very good condition. Comments: This item comes from the estate of Lt. Colonel Sol. E. Ernst, who served in the U.S. Military Mission to Brazil circa 1949-1950. He was an expert in various types of radar bombing equipment and gave a lecture on that subject at the AAF School of Applied Tactics in May, 1945. He also served as a technical advisor for the 1943 movie Bombardier starring Randolph Scott, Pat OBrien, Eddie Albert, and Anne Shirley.
