Item description

#19 in the Tom Swift Jr. series. Grosset and Dunlap hardcover publication. Copyright 1962. This is a first edition; the last title on the back cover is the prior volume, #18 Electronic Hydrolung. No internal book list. Author "Victor Appleton II." Victor Appleton the first was the Stratemeyer Syndicate pen name for the initial Tom Swift series. Excellent, clean, square first edition. Black and white space lab endpapers. No writing/markings. Minor corner bumping. In this one, Tom develops many ingenious devices. The best one is the car of your dreams. It can fly, and needs no conventional fuel - it's powered by repelatrons and an atomic power capsule Tom has cooked up. This capsule has a super-plastic durastress hull which prevents the capsule from exploding due to internal pressure! Note to New York state residents: an 8.75% sales tax is applicable. (TSB19)
