Item description

THE CRYING OF LOT 49 by Thomas Pynchon 'The Crying of Lot 49 is Thomas Pynchon's highly original classic satire of modern America, about Oedipa Maas, a woman who finds herself enmeshed in what would appear to be an international conspiracy. After her ex-lover, wealthy real-estate tycoon Pierce Inverarity, dies and designates her the coexecutor of his estate, Pynchon's novel expands into a paranoid mystery of metaphors, symbols, bizarre characters and the United States Postal Service...' Check the 12 pictures carefully, they're part of the description, too. 184 pages Published by JB Lippincott Company 1966 1st edition No. 366 at top of inside dustjacket flap. Hardback With dustjacket, worn, scuffed and which has a number of sections either torn off or just torn. At the bottom of the inside front flap there is a small red ink notation. The pictures tell the story. It has, however, served its purpose well of protecting the cover underneath well, which is embossed with 3 Trystero posthorns, for the purists... 135mm x 210mm format, approx. A very good reading and reference copy Binding intact. On the spine there are 3 very small dart impact holes, not affecting the integrity of the binding at all. One can be seen on the view of the top of the spine, near 'T' and another near 'P'. No major creases Small bumps / scuffs and light wear to edge of cover, as per age. Main center section is in good condition. Pages lightly tanned, but in good condition, minimal signs of light reading / shelf and storage wear. No pen or ink marks or notations. Pictures uploaded, various views. No library / 'stock' photos used, I've actually got the item, and what you see is what you get... Buy-it-Now, $475.00, shipping included to USA.
