Volume 2, 100 plates in 5 parts with original folders, and each folder with a dust jacket. Copies of this original issues in parts are uncommon, especially in this NICE condition. Bone (1876-1953) was Britain's first official war artist. Commissioned as an honorary Second Lieutenant, he arrived in France during the Battle of the Somme, serving with the Allied forces on the Western Front and also with the Royal Navy for a time. He produced many drawings of the war. This piece is an interesting step back in time. Ready for a new collector's home. Size: 12-1/2 x 9-3/4 inches. Condition: Good or better. Shelf and handling wear to cover and binding, with general signs of previous use. The folders and dust wrappers as well as all the text and prints are remarkably bright, crisp, and clean condition to be over 100 years old. Two publishers? slipcases are with a few stains and wears at the extremities. Also, each book comes in a hard outside slipcase which shows age uses wear, some tears, but still present and it?s in Acceptable Condition. Cosmetic condition is as clearly and accurately shown in the high-definition pictures provided. Please inspect all of them carefully. Overall, a rarity, and very uncommon.
