Vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the 1920's British aristocrat-turned-boxer comedy/romance, THE VICTOR, released in 1923 by Universal Pictures and directed by Edward Laemmle. Based on the story, "Two Bells for Pegasus," by Gerald Beaumont, the Honorable Fitzhugh Waring (Herbert Rawlinson), eldest son of Lord Waring, comes to America on his father's advice to marry Chiquita Jones (Esther Ralston), the daughter of P. Jones (Otis Harlan), a rich chewing gum baron, and save the family estate. Almost starving because he is too proud to carry out his original plan, Fitzhugh meets Teddy (Dorothy Manners), a poor but pretty actress, who shares her meal of doughnuts with him. Fitzhugh becomes a prizefighter to earn some money and is so successful that he wins the British middleweight crown. The money saves Lord Waring's finances, and Fitzhugh gets the old man's approval of his marriage to Teddy. The cast includes Frank Currier, Eddie Gribbon, and Tom McGuire. The image features an interior shot inside the hotel room of British aristocrat Cecil Fitzhugh Waring (Herbert Rawlinson) with his hands in his pocket after giving a poor tip to two bellboys (including Eddie Gribbon). It is in very fine- condition with random signs of light discoloration in the top border near the right corner and light signs of wear on the bottom corners. There are no pinholes, tears, creases, writing, or other flaws.
