This is a vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy copy photograph (not a vintage original photo printed at the time it was taken) from the classic teens silent film drama, THE HOODLUM, released in 1919 by First National Pictures and directed by Sidney Franklin. Mary Pickford stars as a spoiled young rich girl who is forced by misfortune to fight for survival in the slums and alleys, where she becomes involved with all manner of unpleasantness. The image features an interior medium shot of Amy Burke (Mary Pickford) looking unhappy while still enjoying the lifestyle of a wealthy young girl. It is in very fine condition without any pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws. Provenance: The Collection of Robert Cushman. Mr. Cushman worked at the Margaret Herrick Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for many years and was a major private collector on and author about Mary Pickford.
