Brand new factory sealed dvd 3-disc set of the complete second season. Out Of Print (OOP) in all formats and no longer being manufactured. The music has been changed for this home video version as rights were not secured.
In 1982 George A. Romero and Stephen King collaborated and released the film 'Creepshow'. It was based on the EC horror comics of the '50s, such as 'Tales from the Crypt' and 'Vault of Horror'. In light of the film's success, it's producer decided to explore the potential for a TV series based on the feature.
However, Warner Bros. had the rights to some elements of 'Creepshow'. Laurel Entertainment chose to move forward with a series that omitted aspects of the movie that were owned by Warner. The result was TALES from the DARKSIDE, which explored the same themes as 'Creepshow', but discarded the framing device and other elements that were based directly on the comics.
Each episode is a self-contained story that often ends with a plot twist. The series spans various genres of speculative fiction, including sci-fi and fantasy in addition to horror, and many episodes have some dark comedy. In the vein of previous anthology series 'Twilight Zone' and 'Outer Limits', each episode opens and closes with an unseen narrator.
This second season features a story by Stephen King and an episode directed by horror make-up artist Tom Savini. There is an episode written by George Romero and some stars to watch for: Seth Green, Phyllis Diller, Lisa Bonet, Darren McGavin, Ben Stiller, and Connie Stevens. It also features two 'Young Artist Award' nominee performances by Scooter Stevens and Tanya Fenmore.
Aliens, ghosts, vampires, voodoo, fortune telling, monsters, a powerful painting, animal sacrifice, doppleganger and other stories that promise to leave you dead-bolting the door and sleeping with lights on.
