Item description

ITEM TITLE Suitability 6800 Roadster Silks Equestrian Sewing Pattern Condition: New Suitability Sewing Pattern - Sold by the Pattern #6800: his pattern contains an unlined shirt-jacket in children?s and adult sizes plus a matching hat for head sizes 20 ?-24 1/2? (measured around the top of the head at forehead level). The shirt-jacket has a snap front and snap pockets, a back expansion pleat, and a tie belt. The hat is custom fit to the wearer?s head with elastic. Adult Chest Sizes 30-52, Children's Sizes 2-16, and Hat Sizes 20 3/4-24 1/2 BODY MEASUREMENTS ADULT CHEST 30 32 34 36 38 40 42 44 46 48 50 52 WAIST 24 26 28 30 32 34 36 39 42 44 48 50 HIPS (SEAT) 31 33 35 37 39 41 43 45 47 49 51 53 NECK* 13 13 1/2 14 14 1/2 15 15 1/2 16 16 1/2 17 17 1/2 18 18 1/2 *Measured at base of neck. CHILD SIZE 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 CHEST 21 23 25 27 28 1/2 30 31 1/2 33 WAIST 20 21 22 23 24 25 1/2 27 28 1/2 HIPS 24 1/2 25 1/2 26 1/2 28 1/2 30 32 34 36 FITTING The jacket is quite loose fitting. For adult sizes the finished measurement at the chest is 10" larger than the chest size. For example, the finished jacket for a Size 38 is actually 48" in circumference. For children's sizes the finished chest measurement is about 25% greater than the body measurement. For adults we suggest choosing a size based on the collar/neck size and then blending to your chest size if necessary. For children use the size that best fits the body measurements. Be sure to check back neck to waist, sleeve length, and hem length before cutting out. To figure out the hem length, stand with arms hanging down and with your hands in fists. The jacket should hit roughly where your knuckles hit your thighs. The finished garment measurements are below. If you?d like a closer fitting jacket, you have two options. Once you have the jacket assembled, you can take in the sleeve/side seams a bit and the front stripe and pocket placement will still look OK. But if you?d like a very tailored close fit than we recommend making a sample jacket first. You will then probably have to re-position the front stripes and pockets. Remember to test the sample jacket in driving position and be sure that you have freedom of movement through your arms and shoulders. MATERIALS Use medium to heavy-weight silk-look or satin-look nylons or polyesters. Please see the notes in the instructions about cutting out slick fabrics. For the hat lining use a heavier weight woven fabric with lots of body. We used Trigger ?. For the hat brim we used Pellon Peltex #70 extra firm stabilizer for crafts.
