St. Bernadette ? Exclusive Photo Restoration ? 4 Sizes ? Catholic Art ? Catholic Gift
Bernadette Soubirous is one of the most famous of Catholic Saints. She had visions of Mary in 1858 at Lourdes, France, which were declared "worthy of belief" by the Church in 1862. Many, many miracles have occurred at Lourdes since then. This picture was taken in 1861 or 1862. She joined the Sisters of Charity in 1868. Saint Bernadette is the patron of the ill, poor, sheep tenders and those ridiculed for their piety. Her feast day is February 18 in France, and elsewhere April 16. Her own favorite Saint was Bernard. We hope this photo restoration gives you a better sense of Bernadette as a living girl. This face before you is one who saw the face of the Mother of God. There is something of the firmness in this young woman's gaze we think comes from Heaven and gives Bernadette her beauty. It is our hope that our photo reconstructions remove some of the fog of history and give you a more intimate experience of the Saint. We hope you find it easier to appreciate her as a living girl, a person like us, and feel closer to her and thus closer to Jesus. ** IMPORTANT ** IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER!!There is a white border around the image. About 0.5" for 5x7, 1.3" for 8.5x11", 1.6" for 11x14", and 1.75" for 13x17". The border gives our images a finished look, and lets them look good in a frame without a matt. - Acid-free fine art paper. - Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.- Cardboard backer- Above story of the art- Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag. Thanks for your interest!Sue John"In order to communicate the message entrusted to her by Christ, the Church needs art." ~ St. Pope John Paul IIOriginal image is out-of-copyright. Descriptive text and image alterations (hence the whole new image) by Sue Kouma Johnson - Classic Catholic Art.
