SOLD: THE RISE AND FALL OF THE HOUSE OF SOTHEBY by Nicholas Faith Macmillan Publishing Co., First U.S. Printing, 1985 Condition: Very Good+ to Near Fine in VG+ to NF dust jacket This book interweaves the story of entrepreneur Peter Wilson with the history of England's Sotheby's (of which he was chairman) and the rise of the auction house as a dominant force in art transactions. The book includes 8 pages of photos. Modest spine end wear, one cover corner has very slight bump pages are toned. Else hinges page binding are firm and there are no markings, tears or creases. The jacket has identical modest wear on spine ends, there are light creases along front top bottom edges just a touch of wear at fold ends.
