Antique Real Photo Postcard. Caption indicates this is the residence of R.J. Chase in South Sebec, Maine. He was almost certainly a relative of the founder of Sebec, Dr. Ezekiel Chase. Publisher is not stated. Card is numbered No. 19. Divided back, postmarked 1919 from Dover, Maine. Condition: This is an original photo postcard, not a copy or reproduction. It is in very good condition. Comments: Sebec is a town in Piscataquis County, Maine, United States. The population was 665 at the 2020 census. The name Sebec is derived from the Indian name Sebecco, by which the lake was originally called. According to the town web site, "It is one of the six townships granted to Bowdoin College by Massachusettes in 1794." Sebec was settled in 1803 by Dr. Ezekiel Chase.
