Item description

SLOVENIA Pick#.................... 11a Banknote Book # 301a Denomination .... 10 Tolar Date..................... 1992 Condition............ UNC Comments........ The hand engraved portrait of the Protestant reformer and author Primoz Trubar is the main motif on the front of the banknote. The profile silhouette filled up with microwriting completes the image. On reverse, in the centre of the left hand area of the banknote the motif of the first page of Trubar's Abecedarium is printed by the intaglio method, and beneath it a writing quill is pictured. The watermark bears the face of Primoz Trubar (3rd image). On the back of the banknote there is a reproduction of a drawing of the Ursuline Church in Ljubljana. In the upper left hand area of the banknote a motif from the New Testament is printed by the intaglio method. 2nd image note under ultraviolet (UV) light showing security inks. Watermark Trubar (3rd image). Tolar = Derived from the German word "Thaler" as the "Dollar". See my other notes from this country. Printer: Thomas de la Rue (TDLR), London. NEVER A RESERVE !!
