About Simon Bell: Simon Bell was appointed Assistant Organist of Southwell Minster in 2003, having previously held posts at Westminster Abbey and St Albans Cathedral. During his time at Westminster he played at a number of important civic and state occasions, most notably the funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. As a recitalist, he has played at venues up and down the UK, including St Paul?s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Leeds Town Hall and the Albert Hall, Nottingham. Simon is also active as a choral conductor. At Southwell Minster, he is the responsible for directing the Minster Girls? Choir and the Cathedral?s voluntary choir, the Minster Chorale. In addition, he accompanies the Minster Choir in concerts, on tour and on recordings and broadcasts. Musical Director of the Lincoln Chorale from 2003, in September 2006 Simon took up the post of Musical Director of Grantham Choral Society.
