Item description

1:72 Scale Diecast Metal - North American P-51D Mustang "Miss Helen" 10.5 Victory Ace Capt. Raymond Littge 487th FS, 352nd FG, USAAF, 1945 ? Length: 5.25" Wingspan: 6? 1:72 Scale Diecast Metal - Focke-Wulf Fw-190A I./JG 1, ? Length: 5" Wingspan: 5.75? This is a set of two models. The models are made of diecast metal. For each model, the cockpit is glue shut. It has no pilot figure included. The landing gear is modeled in the retracted position. A display stand is included. This is really a "no-play" model or a "display-only" model. It is mostly metal and very heavy. It also has a number of antennas which look great but are very fragile. If you have small kids that like to play with your models, save yourself some frustration (and money) and wait till later to get a model like this one. The box is labeled as not suitable for children under 15. The maker of this model did a good job with this model, specifically the color scheme and the markings are very crisp and clear. The panel lines and hatches are very nicely done (engraved). The North American Aviation P-51 Mustang is an American long-range, single-seat fighter and fighter-bomber used during World War II, the Korean War and other conflicts. The Mustang was conceived, designed and built by North American Aviation (NAA) in response to a specification issued directly to NAA by the British Purchasing Commission. The prototype NA-73X airframe was rolled out on 9 September 1940, 102 days after the contract was signed and first flew on 26 October. The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 Würger (English: Shrike) is a German single-seat, single-enginefighter aircraft designed by Kurt Tank in the late 1930s and widely used during World War II. Along with its well-known counterpart, the Messerschmitt Bf 109, the Fw 190 became the backbone of the Luftwaffe's Jagdwaffe (Fighter Force). The twin-row BMW 801 radial enginethat powered most operational versions enabled the Fw 190 to lift larger loads than the Bf 109, allowing its use as a day fighter, fighter-bomber, ground-attack aircraft and, to a lesser degree, night fighter.
