Sculptor. Woodcarver. Montreal, Quebec. Active 1930?s ? 1940?s. Regina Normand and her sister Lucie were flat-plane woodcarvers. They made carvings of Quebec figures in traditional costume and situations. Their carvings were usually signed in scrip or with a stamp in black ink: ?R. Normand Montreal? or ?Fait a la Main, Quebec, Canada?. Their work was almost always painted and their carvings were generally smaller ? in the 3 1/2 inch to 5 1/2 inch range *Other members of the Normand family may have been involved in the flat-plane work as well.
