It was made into a classic film in 1946. Modest cover corner and spine-end wear, a little wear on a few page edges, moderate page toning, an Ex Libris label on the ffep, a small piece of tape on the front pastedown and evidence of an erasure on the title page. The jacket has some paper loss at the spine head (affecting the title), a long tear along and through the spine and various small tears and chips along the edges and folds. This Canadian edition is less common than the U.S. edition.
