Item description
Tight, flat, square, sharp and crisp book in lightly wrinkled DJ with small nicks, price tag remnants, light scratching. Glue stain. Owner's name. Laid in ticket to a symphony concert featuring Templeton in 1961. First printing (number line).
Alec Templeton died in 1963, at the age of 54. Blind from birth, and gifted with perfect pitch, he became a concert pianist as well as a radio host of some note. He played with the Cincinnati Orchestra in the 1950's before becoming a broadcast personality, so his guest spot would have been highly attended. He collected music boxes as a hobby and was an early electronic music experimenter, using recorded tape to experiment with speed differentials to create unique piano pieces.
