Item description

Rare early comic book fanzine published in 1972 and serving as the program book for one of the early conventions "Fan Con". 24 pages including covers; covers are textured stock, the interior is good quality plain stock. 8 1/2" x 11" Interviews with convention guests Freas and Leinster, pro and fan artwork and several features. Graphic story by "Mike Marvel" former pen name of the late artist P. D. Angel Gabriele who did work at the major companies. The Steranko and Wrightson pieces had been purchased as sketches at the previous year's Metro Con and were inked by Marvel; the Neal Adams rejected cover was from the same auction. Cover by Gray Morrow, the interior full page shown is by Kelly Freas. All black white. It is in very nice condition having essentially no wear; there is slight aging around the edges. Included is a single page convention schedule of events which was intended to be folded over but never was; it apparently stuck out of the issue some of which that edge portion got a little age and wrinkles, it is across the bottom. There are a couple of tiny dirt or age spots on the back cover towards the top, I have not attempted to rub them with an eraser or anything. The scans are very detailed so judge for yourself.
