HOME | BOOKS | JEAN SHEPHERD | MOVIES | OLD TIME RADIO AUDIO CD | OLD TIME RADIO mp3 CD ROM | OLD TIME RADIO mp3 DVD ROM PERRY MASON Old Time Radio - CD-ROM 256 mp3 Perry Mason adaptations for radio were broadcast on CBS Radio from 1943-1955. The series was adapted into Edge of Night which ran on television for an additional 30 years.. Stanley Gardner's literary success with the Perry Mason novels convinced Hollywood to try its hand, unsuccessfully with some motion pictures. However, the Perry Mason radio show stayed on the air for 12 years and as Edge of Night (EON) another 30 years on television. Reportedly, Mason, author, Gardner disliked the series, due to a lack of his own creative control over the show, ultimately withholding his endorsement of a daytime television version of the radio show. Perry Mason ran 12 seasons. The actors portraying Mason switched greatly over the first three years of its run, starting with Bartlett Robinson, then followed by Santos Ortega and Donald Briggs, before settling on John Larkin, who played the famous attorney for the remainder of the broadcast, as well as the equivalent character on EON. Della Street, in turn was portrayed by Radio Soap Queen Gertrude Warner, Jan Miner (Palmolive's "Madge" the Manicurist), and New York City socialite, Joan Alexander, radio's voice of Lois Lane, (Cast in order of portrayal) * Perry Mason: o Bartlett Robinson, o Santos Ortega, o Donald Briggs, o John Larkin * Della Street: o Gertrude Warner (actor), o Jan Miner, o Joan Alexander * Paul Drake: o Matt Crowley, o Charles Webster * Lieutenant Tragg: o Frank Dane, o Mandel Kramer EPISODES LIST Perry Mason (01xxx) 44-06-07 Perry Mason Case Of The Puzzled Suitor Perry Mason (1056) Perry Mason (1337) 48-10-26 Perry Mason (1338) 48-10-27 Perry Mason (1339) 48-10-28 Perry Mason (1340) 48-10-29 Perry Mason (1341) 48-11-01 Perry Mason (1342) 48-11-02 Perry Mason (1343) 48-11-03 Perry Mason (1344) 48-11-04 Perry Mason (1345) 48-11-05 Perry Mason (1346) 48-11-08 Perry Mason (1347) 48-11-09 Perry Mason (1348) 48-11-10 Perry Mason (1521) 49-07-11 Smell_Of_Death Perry Mason (1548) 49-08-17 Bill_Barker Perry Mason (1604) Honeymoon Murder Case Perry Mason (1605) Honeymoon Murder Case Perry Mason (1925) Case of the Deadly Double Perry Mason (1926) Case of the Deadly Double Perry Mason (2085) Mae Grant Cries Out Perry Mason (2086) Marcel Threatens Mae Perry Mason (2097) Perry Questions Hotel Manager Perry Mason (2098) Shocking Message Perry Mason (2145) No Mercy for Mae Grant Perry Mason (2146) Perry at women's Prison Perry Mason (2147) Daughter or Stranger Perry Mason (2148) Bill's Reaction Perry Mason (2149) Bill Confronts Mae Perry Mason (2150) Bill Grant, Witness Perry Mason (2169) Gloria Teases Dorrie Perry Mason (2170) Dorrie is Comforted Perry Mason (2215) Chambermaid Testifies Perry Mason (2216) Squeaking Witness Chair Perry Mason (2217) Dorrie's 6th Birthday Perry Mason (2218) Subpoena for Dorrie Perry Mason (2219) Little Dorrie Testifies Perry Mason (2220) Toy Pistol Testimony Perry Mason (2221) Prosecutor Exploits Dorrie Perry Mason (2222) Dorrie's Little Bible Perry Mason (2223) Crying Dorrie Runs Perry Mason (2224) Mae to Visit Dorrie Perry Mason (2225) Mae Heals Dorrie's Hurt Perry Mason (2226) Perry's Strategy Working Perry Mason (2226a) Perry's Strategy Working Perry Mason (2227) Perry Demands Kitty's Testimony.
