Narrow and longitudinal metal bars attached to leather backing were commonly used for arms and legs protection in medieval Europe. Made an appearance as a separate and often sole piece of armour, those afterwards grew into a part of an integrated leg of armor in the later period. Splint greaves do not impair mobility because of their light weight, providing reliable protection for the lower legs from knees to ankles. Ten stainless steel plates are cold-forged to maximize their durability, then hand polished, and riveted onto the genuine leather base. We've attached them with cast brass rivets to exclude rusting and covered the inner side of the greaves with soft split leather. The knee cops are made of 1.5 mm steel, while the bars are of lighter gauge for better maneuverability. Etched pattern depicting traditional Celtic ornaments is performed by electroplating and aciding. The greaves fasten with two adjustable buckled leather straps and feature additional holes and laces to attach the knees.
