Item description

Antique Cabinet Card Photograph. Identified as Nathan Clark. Photo by a studio in Bridgeport, Connectict. Nathan was born about 1824 and died September 21, 1893 in Bethany, Connecticut. He married Sara Lola Lounsbury (1826-1893) on September 6, 1843 in New Haven, Connecticut. Nathan parents were Isaac Clark (1786-1861) and Esther Treat (1789-1862). The children of Nathan and Sara included Emma Sarah Clark and Edwin Nathan Clark. This photo came with a large collection of Clark family images (all listed and sold separately) including an Edwin Wallace Clark also of Connecticut who looks nearly identical to Nathan, but no connection has been established. The collection also included a photo of Vara (or Vera) Lounsbury who shares the same surname with Nathan's wife, but again we are unable to establish a family connection. However, additional genealogical information will be provided with the purchase of this photo. Measures approximately 5 x 7.25 including mount. Condition: This is an original photograph, not a copy or reproduction. It has heavy foxing (age spotting.) Comments: The photo(s) in this listing came from a large family collection with established connections to several surnames, all listed and sold separately. They include the names: Clark, Munyan, Brown, Gillette, Shaw, Call, Flynn and Radcliffe. Most of these families lived in Connecticut, and some resided in Massachusetts. Please use the search window in our storefront to access these other family photographs.
