Antique Cabinet Card Photograph. Identified as Mary Jane Hewey, the eldest child of Andrew Jackson Hewey and Mary West Jones. (See below for more information.) Mary Jane Hewey was wed to Joseph R. Jones. Joseph was born January 11, 1866 and died in July, 1950. Mary Jane was born March 24, 1864 and died October 10, 1954. The couple had a daughter Nina Rollins Jones Cheney, born ca. 1898 in New Castle, Maine and was wed to Albro C. Cheney on August 31, 1921. Photo by Hendee studio of Augusta, Maine. Comments: This photo came from a large collection of inter-related family images including the surnames Plummer, Hewey, Jones, Cleaves, Hodgkins, Rollins, Butterfield, Hilton, Maxwell, Bond, Dodge, Winters, and Conroy. The primary progenitors of these families are Andrew Jackson Hewey (1835-1882), Elliot Plummer (born 1808), Jane West Plummer (1837-1919), and William Samuel Cleaves (1843-1916). Additional Information: Mary Jane Hewey Jones was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Hewey and Jane West Jones. Andrew Jackson Hewey was born November 29, 1835 in Maine, and died November 22, 1882. He was the son of James and Mary Hewey. He is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Phillips, Maine. He was married to Jane West Plummer circa 1863. Jane was born in 1837 and died in 1919. After the death of her first husband she wed William Samuel Cleaves (1843-1916) in 1885 in Maine. The children of Andrew Jackson Hewey and Jane West Plummer included Lewis James Hewey, Elmira "Myra" Hewey, and Mary Jane Hewey. Lewis was born in 1875, and had a son named William C. Hewey who was born June 6, 1906 in East Pittston, Maine. Elmira was born in Maine in August, 1877 and died in 1929. She married Ernest H. Reed (1878-1935).
