PersonallyByPat Linens, Home Decor More! * * * from my door to yours * * * Vintage Marquitos Chiquitin White Leather Petal Cutouts T-Strap Baby Shoes, Euro Sz 18 (3 US), from Madrid, 1989 I am cleaning out my cedar chest! This is a vintage pair of white leather Marquitos Chiquitin children's t-strap with petal cutouts, buckle shoes, European size 18, which I purchased at Calvados Marquitos at Serrano 70, Madrid, Spain, in 1989. I was there on a trip with my nine-month-old son and bought several pairs of baby and children's shoes in different sizes. This pair was definitely worn but still has lots of wear left in them. There are rubbed, discolored areas on the toes of the shoes, probably from crawling, which some white shoe polish would probably cover, and the very soft leather has some creasing due to flexing of the feet while being worn. The inner soles are in very good shape with just a little wear of the gold lettering inside one shoe. The white bottom soles have some change in whiteness of the grooved material but no significant wear. The shoes are marked on the inside with "chiquitin" and "18 28." The shoes have been stored in my cedar chest wrapped in tissue paper. Children's European size 18 is equal to US 3. The shoes measure 5 inches long from heel to toe of the sole. (The Marquitos tote bag and baby shown are not included.) Marquitos was the neatest kids' shoe store with swinging seats hung with chains for the little ones to sit in while being fitted with shoes. A girl or a boy could wear these. I am listing other shoes from Marquitos, also. The shoes are not in a shoe box. They will come to you carefully packed via US Priority Mail.
