Item description

Catalog Number: DLP-3084 Condition Details: Vinyl plays with crackles and some clicks (play-graded). Cover looks great; light scuffing and a few creases, surface impressions and discoloration spots (front/back); back is slightly more discolored than front. Inner-sleeve is generic white. Spine is easy-to-read with mild wear. Little shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge, a small split at right side of top-edge. Corners show wear. Opening shows signs of use and a few divots. (Not a cut-out.) Tracks: 'Tis Sweet To Be Remembered I'll Still Write Your Name In The Sand Shackles And Chains Remembering I Haven't Got The Right To Love You I Saw Your Face In The Moon Four Walls Around Me Rainbow In The Valley Love Letters In The Sand I Wonder How The Old Folks Are At Home Don't Let Your Sweet Love Die Goin' Like Wildfire About The Record: Mac Wiseman's musical career began as upright bass player in the Cumberland Mountain Folks, the band of country singer Molly O'Day. When Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs left Bill Monroe's band, Wiseman became the guitarist for their new band, the Foggy Mountain Boys. Later he played with Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys. In 1951, his first solo single, 'Tis Sweet to Be Remembered, was released. According to Rolling Stone this song "catapulted him to solo stardom". This album contains many of the hits that pushed Mac into Country Stardom.
