The film "Fiddler on the Roof", produced by Norman Jewison in 1971 really stopped the show, not to say Ðf the "Oscar" conferred to it the ÐÐÑ?е year. It was the Broadway musical of the same name to be shot. The novel "Tevie the Milkman" by Sholom-Aleihem as transformed by Joseph Stein to musical libretto, while Jerry Bock composed song to the lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. The musical Ðзе1ÐÑÐз staged in 1964. The New-York performance had Ð run of 3242 nights, while the next London one â?? 2030 nights. The success of Ð?ÐÑ1Ñ'з music is concealed in its cordial vivid melodies, sticking in memory. It' s worth to mark the distinguished American violinist Isaac Stern having taken part in this filmâ?s sound-track. The Litte Suite for flute, cello and piano imbibed most striking themes from Bock's "Fiddler". This garish concert composition is rather accessible for any amateur ensemble. ÐеÐе you are the Jewish traditional clesmer music making, the kind of unÑ?rovisÐtion peculiar for the Eastern Europe. Movement 1 ("Traditions") resembles the overture, depicting the customary everyday life of the small town at the Jewish settlement. Movement II ("Anatevka") represents the village, where the action takes place. It corresponds to the film's scene, when the banished Jews leave their habitual places according to the ÐsÐÐ's order. "If Were Ð Rich Man" â?? the main character's song, dreaming about welfare never to come true. The fantasy makes crazy thoughts and visions ÑÐÑ?е to his mind. They are about his daughter's marriage, his wife's garments and everything money provides to Ð poor man. This imaginative vision evolves on the ground of freilachs, turning into the whirling dance to the end like the swing.Contents:TRADITIONSANATEVKAIF I WERE A RICH MAN
