The feature length, premire double-episode shows the origin story of Nicodemus LEGEND, a fictional dime-store novel character brought to life by its author Ernest Pratt (Richard Dean Anderson) and his scientist/inventor partner, Janos Bartok (John de Lancie) to fight for justice. Subsequent episodes had Legend thwarting a bank robber, a presidential assasination plot, cattle rustlers, buffalo killers, and so on. He also has legends in their own right, Wild Bill Hickock and General Custer, come and ask him for his help. There is also some other lighthearted, fun and action packed episodes. The show had good ratings but despite that, UPN had a change of management which resulted in almost evey other series getting an unjustified canceling.
