Item description

Jory is an heirloom tomato variety that likely originated from Portugal. It was grown throughout Oregon's Willamette Valley during the early 1900s primarily as a canning tomato. Indeterminate vines produce bright-red, oxheart-shaped fruits that weigh between 8 to 12 ounces each. Flesh is juicy and sweet, making this old heirloom an excellent choice for slicing, canning, or stewing. Plants continue to produce late into the season, and are an excellent choice for dry farming. Start indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last spring frost, sowing the seeds 1/8 inch deep in a seed flat or cell tray. Use a heat mat to keep the soil temperature between 70 to 75F and a humidity dome to ensure the soil stays moist between watering. Germination should occur within 6 to 8 days. 60 days to maturity.
