Item description
WHAT ROUGH BEAST
By John Trent.
New York: The Macmillan Company, Cock Robin Mystery, (1957).
First U.S. edition, first printing.
"First printing" statement to the copyright page, 1957 date printed to the title page, $2.95 to the jacket's flap.
Trench's third mystery featuring amateur sleuth Martin Cotterell includes the author's trademark sardonic wit.
Light age-toning to the end-papers as usual, rubbing to the upper and lower spine edges, else near fine, and firm in waxed black linen boards with sky-blue titles to the front cover and to the spine; in a Vera Brock illustrated very good dust jacket with a few minuscule shelf-edge nicks, rubbed crimps to the upper and lower spine edges and corner tips, and dust soiling to the rear panel.
