One (1) Original Photo of JFK with Dwight D. Eisenhower
One (1) White House embossed Book of Matches
One (1) 1964 Silver Coin Paperweight Cube
Itemized Descriptions:
#1: One (1) Original Photo of JFK with Colonel John Glenn:
An 8 x 10 glossy black and white photo of President John F. Kennedy with Astronaut and first American in Space, Colonel John Glenn standing next to Space Capsule 13. (Probably the Friendship 7)
Dated 02/23/62, President Kennedy probably just awarded Colonel Glen the Medal he is wearing. Looking close, notice that Kennedy is holding the Medal Box.
Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson may be standing behind Kennedy.
On the reverse side of the photo it states that this is an official U.S. Air Force photo done by the RCA Photographic Laboratory at the Missile Test Center for NASA.
The image is undamaged and comes in an acid free rigid top loader to preserve it.
Add to your space or presidential collection - A real iconic image. (And we just went back into space in 2020!)
Own this original Mercury Program image when you purchase the lot.
#2: One (1) Original Photo of JFK with Dwight D. Eisenhower
An official Associated Press 8 x 10 glossy black and white wire photo.
Such a rare image of the two Presidents coming together at the White House on June 21, 1961.
President Eisenhower was invited back to the White House by Kennedy to attend a luncheon with Japan's Prime Minister, Hayato Ikeda and his wife.
Eisenhower is seen talking with Kennedy.
Kennedy appears to be quite absorbed in this conversation; His left hand is in his pocket.
Great for Kennedy or Eisenhower collector or Japanese Buff.
PLEASE NOTE: This image appears to have some diffused spots. Probably from being mounted against a piece of glass with no air gap. These spots can only be seen with the image viewed at an angle. Spots are not visible or apparent when looking straight ahead. Doesn't impact on visual appeal of piece.
#3: Rare - Unused Official White House Embossed Book of Matches:
Typically found on Air Force One during the Kennedy Administration.
Notice the embossed image of the White House on the front, the Presidential Seal on the Reverse and the Union Made printing on the bottom edge.
As told from the owner:
"These were given to me by Robert (a.k.a. Bob) White from Baltimore at a Major Collectible event at the Atlantic City Convention Center in the early 1990's. Bob White had the largest private collection of Kennedy Memorabilia.
He befriended Evelyn Lincoln, Kennedy's secretary and would go on daily runs with Bobby Kennedy.
He gave me these matches in appreciation for sharing stories with him about a pair of Kennedy's RX eyeglasses - I'm an Optometrist and "image-looking" thru Kennedy's eyes, I did.
Kennedy probably used similar matches to light his famous cigars as Bob White shared that these were used on Air Force One. I Hope they will have a special place in your collection. Let the light be passed. Buy the lot and enjoy these"
#4: Paper Weight: 1964 Presidential Silver Coin Mint Set Encased in Lucite Paper Weight Cube
2 1/2" Embedded in Lucite 1964. Mint Set.
The 1/2 Dollar / 50 cent piece was all silver in that year (90%)
There's also a silver Roosevelt dime, a silver quarter / 25 cent piece, copper Lincoln penny, and Jefferson nickel / 5 cent.
ALL minted at the Denver Mint.
The Lucite block has some surface scratches which can be buffed out (shows well as is)
The coins still have shine.
The penny has some toning.
Great for your desk or to show with other Kennedy memorabilia.
Buy the lot and own this.
Items may arrive in recycled packaging.
