Wear chipping to edges corners, with scratches, indentations, rub-wear soiling, plus the following - FRONT COVER: Vertical reader crease right of spine, Xd by 1/2" stress crease at mid-upper spine edge 5/16" crease at top spine edge; 3/8" crease top left edge; 5/16" corner crease top right corner; 2-5/16" X 5/8" rub-wear mark upper left midcover; 1/2" crease lower left midcover; 1-1/16" crease left lower edge, near 1/4" depression. - SPINE: Lean to right; 1 top to bottom crease; slight bowing; publisher glue bubbles. - BACK COVER: Yellowing; vertical reader crease left of spine, Xd by 3/4" stress crease at mid-lower spine edge 3/4" stress crease at mid-spine; 1-3/8" crease left lower midcover; 2" depression upper left midcover, w/ 1-7/8" depression above (possible moisture damage?); top left corner curls down 1/2"; top to bottom indentation from right lower edge to right top edge. - INTERIOR: Browning pages/inside covers. - OVERALL CONDITION = Good Minus
While the copyright page states that this is a "first edition," it is only honest to point out that not only does this edition have a Collier catalog number at the front top left corner (as well as lower spine edge) of "AS 595 V," but there is an additional catalog number ("02203") at the rear lower right corner. I suspect that this is a "transition" edition, between both the acknowledged "first" and "second" Collier editions. Any other opinions or guesses?
