This vintage hourglass is by artist Mary Vaux Walcott. She was born in Pennsylvania in 1860, and began painting flowers at age 8 after receiving paints for a birthday. She spent many summers in the Canadian Rockies and created hundreds of illustrations of plants and flowers there.
