Item description

This coffee tin was from Horn Hardart Restaurants. They were the precursor to Star Bucks and Dunkin Donuts. There were Automats in New York City and Philadelphia. You could get a sandwich with your cup of coffee or a dessert. Some were well know for their bakeries. I don't recall when they went out of favor, but at one time there were machines where you put in money and made a selection and the door to the cubby opened so you could remove your sandwich or pie. They also sold their coffee along with other items in the retail section of the restaurant. Around any holiday they had wonderful confections. This tin is in very nice shape with little to no damage other than a random scratch. It probably could stand to be cleaned but I will leave that to the buyer. It measures 5 inches across and is about 3 1/2 inches tall. We must collect 6% Pennsylvania Sales and Use Tax at checkout. Thanks for stopping by!
