Family Genealogy: Herbert Craig Miller, Sr. was born April 30, 1888 in Catawba, North Carolina. He was the son of Mack D. Miller (1861-1923) and Mary Lou Thomason (1867-1956). Herbert Sr. was married to Stella May Rhyne on June 8, 1913 in Gastonia, North Carolina. Stella was born July 30, 1887 in Gastonia. She was the daughter of Peter Sylvanus Rhyne (1859-1943) and Julia Ann Hoffman (1868-1934). Herbert Sr. and his wife Stella had at least three children including Mary Katherine Miller who was born May 1, 1914 in Catawba, North Carolina, married James Harrison Arthur Sr. on December 29, 1936 in Iredell, NC, and died July 15, 1974 in Union, South Carolina. She had one son, James Harrison Arthur Jr. (1939-2020); Carl Rhyne Miller (1918-1920); and Herbert Craig Miller, Jr. who was born circa 1924 in Rowan, Co., NC and lived to 100 years old, passing away on January 27, 2024 in Blacksburg, Virginia. He was married to Doris R. Miller, and their children included Janet Miller Ritz, David Miller, and Paul Miller. He served in the navy during World War II. Herbert Sr. died on February 21, 1975 in Mooresville, North Carolina. His wife Stella died November 22, 1981 in Rowan, North Carolina.
