Heinz Balli, who studied at the Conservatory in Berne, won the International Organ Competition of Bologna in 1971. From 1990 to 2006, Balli worked as organist at the Cathedral of Berne. At the same time, he was a professor at the University of the Arts Berne, head of an organ class and lecturer in teaching methodology and classical literature.
