Hear That Lonesome Whistle is a signed and numbered limited edition print by George Hallmark. This piece depicts a deserted train station with a single horse tied outside. The image size is 14 1/2" x 22". Overall size is 19" x 26". It was published by Chisholm Trail Impressions in 1983 in an edition size of 500. About the Artist: Artist George Hallmark’s creative career has spanned nearly five decades, progressing from architectural designer to commercial artist to renowned oil painter. His subject matter is primarily architecture, focusing on structures most often found in Mexico, France, Spain, Italy and the southwest . Known for his precise delineation, he gives each of his compositions an infusion of layers of light and elements of the natural world. His brushstrokes deftly capture the quiet moments of everyday life, offering a glimpse into exquisitely calm settings and beautiful surroundings. Hallmark’s paintings appear in museums and private collections worldwide, including the Autry Museum of the American West, the Booth Western Art Museum, the Briscoe Western Art Museum and the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. He has also been featured in Art of the West, Southwest Art, U.S. Art, Western Art and Architecture and Western Art Collector magazines. In addition, he participates annually in the Prix de West Invitational Art Exhibition and Sale, the Masters of the American West Art Exhibition and Sale, Quest for the West Art Show and Sale, and the American Masters Exhibition and Sale. In 1988, he was voted the official Texas State Artist. He has won numerous awards, most recently the Frederic Remington Award for Exceptional Painting at the 2017 Prix de West: (National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum), the Silver Medal Award for Best Oil at The West Select: A Western Art Invitational Sale and Exhibition (Phoenix Art Museum, 2011) and the Artist of Distinction Award at the Quest for the West Art Show and Sale (Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, 2010).
