Vintage original 27x41 in. US one-sheet poster from the popular 1970's comedy/drama romance, HOUSE CALLS, released in 1978 by Universal Pictures and directed by Howard Zieff. Charley (Walter Matthau) is a surgeon who's recently lost his wife. He embarks on a tragicomic romantic quest with one woman after another until he meets up with Ann (Glenda Jackson), a singular woman, closer to his own age, who immediately and unexpectedly captures his heart. Unrestored and folded as originally issued, this vintage original one-sheet is in fine+ condition with random signs of light wear in the borders. There are no pinholes, tears, or other flaws. Walter Matthau appeared in drag in this movie. House Calls is the first of two star teamings of Walter Matthau and Glenda Jackson who starred together again in Hopscotch (1980), due to the success of this film which spun-off a television sitcom. The name of the central character Dr. Charley Nichols (Matthau) was changed to Dr. Charley Michaels for House Calls (1979), it ran for fifty-nine episodes. Matthau and Art Carney starred together as Oscar and Felix in Neil Simon's original Broadway production of The Odd Couple.
