Coping with trauma of their childhood captivity (shown in a colorful prologue) they now slay witches for hire. They are armed with a vast array of pseudo-steampunk gadgets, like a rapid-fire repeater crossbow and heavy-duty gatling guns. Their latest assignment is a rustic burg where children are dissappearing and it's citizens are just itching to execute the supposed witches for the crime. Despite the push-back of a renegade sheriff, the pair discover an ominous plot connected to a powerful adversary, a coven of witches led by Muriel (Famke Janssen), her beauty often hidden under a craggy disguise, and a ritual of the Blood Moon. Gothic medieval fantasy and modern-ish tech clash with stick riding witches, grappling hooks, spells, a fireball launched at a village while looking over a witch's shoulder, as well as a gruelling stretch where a troll crushes a pack of men.
