Vintage original 11x14 in. US lobby card from the classic 1950's crime drama thriller, GIRLS GUNS AND GANGSTERS, released in 1959 by United Artists and directed by Edward L. Cahn. Set in Las Vegas, a group of assorted criminals plans the robbery of an armored truck hauling casino money to the bank. The cast includes Mamie Va Doren, Gerald Mohr, Lee Van Cleef, Grant Richards, Elaine Edwards, John Baer, Paul Fix, and Carlo Fiore. As indicated in the center of the bottom border, this is lobby card #4 from the set of 8 cards. The image depicts a great close shot of beautiful blonde Vi Victor (Mamie Van Doren) looking at the newspaper headlines with Charles "Chuck" Wheeler (Gerald Mohr) about a prison break from San Quentin. It is unrestored in very fine condition with a small mark from a ballpoint pen near the top of the left border. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws and the color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading. The narrator always refers to Mamie Van Doren's character by her full name, "Vi Victor," and never just "Vi," as some of the other characters do. Possibly this is for clarity; it could also be a reference to the old Latin saying, "Vae victis" ("woe to the conquered").
