This listing is for a healthy, beautiful, 4-6 feet tall Chinese Golden Rain Tree. This tree is easy to grow, growing up to 30-40 ft tall. OUTSTANDING FEATURES: Produces small yellow blossoms about inch across held upright in clusters on a stalk about 12–18 inches long. The yellow coloring is rare and beautiful among flowering trees. Blooms in early June through July, and can begin blooming as soon as one year after planting. Features dark green compound leaves that are 6–15 inches long and made up of 7–15 coarsely toothed leaflets 1–4 inch in length. They turn pale yellow in autumn. Yields fruit that look like little three-sided lanterns, light yellow to brown in color and containing hard, black seeds. Makes an excellent street tree because it's great for planting near utility lines and paved surfaces. Has good resistance to pests and diseases. Can tolerate urban stresses such as air pollution and heat. Generally grows in a rounded shape. Has a short life span of approximately 50 years. The Golden Rain tree grows well in acidic, alkaline, Sandy, loamy, well-drained, clay and wet soils and It has some drought tolerance. Full sun is the ideal condition for this tree, therefore it should get at least six hrs. of direct, sunlight each day. This tree grows at a medium to fast rate. The height increases anywhere from 13inches to more than 24 inches per year. The Golden Rain tree attracts bees while flowering in the spring. Cold hardy to zones 5-9. Keep soil moist until completely established, then water regularly as needed. Fertilize in spring just before new growth begins.
