Item description

Beautiful Gloria Dickson (August 13, 1916 - April 10, 1945) extremely rare autographed vintage late 1930s or early 1940s double weight 8x10 photo hand signed and inscribed For Billy- Thank you darling for your fine help and your much needed wit and comradeship - Love always Gloria, in first name only. This photo has two hole punches on the left side border that can be matted out. This photo has been priced accordingly. She was an American stage and screen actress of the 1930s and 1940s. Known for They Made Me a Criminal (1939), They Won't Forget (1937), Gold Diggers in Paris (1938), Waterfront (1939), Private Detective (1939) and others. Gloria Dickson died during a fire at the Los Angeles home she was renting from actor Sidney Toler, caused by an unextinguished cigarette that ignited an overstuffed chair on the main floor while she slept upstairs. Her body, and that of her pet dog, were found in the bathroom, and it was assumed that she had attempted to escape through the bathroom window. She died from asphyxiation, flames had seared her lungs, and her body had suffered first and second degree burns. Autographed photos of her are impossible to find i have only seen 3 total she died at only 28 very sad. Buy with confidence we have been selling in-person autographs since 1992.
